Applications can be approved in as little as 20 days and complying development applies to homes as well as businesses and industry. Complying Development Requirements
According to NSW Planning & Environment
“Complying development is a combined planning and construction approval for straightforward development that can be determined through a fast track assessment by a council or an accredited certifier.”
There are many structures it can be applied to including:
- New houses
- Additions and alterations to an existing house
- New industrial buildings
- Demolition of a building
- Changes to a business use
Complying Development saves you time and money (up to $15,000 for a new house and $2,600 for renovations). Complying development does need to be signed off by a building certifier and is subject to certain conditions.
